Hankook Ventus v12 evo

I just bought these today with new rims and I was kinda worried. Feeling pretty good about them now after seeing all these good things. I should get them Tuesday from ups along with my car from the shop with a new clutch and flywheel. Guess it works out that I'll be able to break them in together...can't wait

Rebate is back at Discount Tires, $60 rebate until June.
Mine completely worn out after 17,000KM, exactly 1 year.
Is that low? I didn't track or anything and alignment was done when the tires are mounted.

Review, The sizes: 225/45/17, 255/40/17
The primary purpose of these tires are for daily driving; with respect to that purpose, I'd rate these tires good.
These tires are not amazing, or even very good, just good. If we treat these tires like a project, I'd give these a C.
Road noise: Grade A+! These tires are very quiet, especially compared to the OEM tires. They are slightly more quiet than Yokohama S. Drive.
Highway radio setting:
OEM: 24-27 volume units
Hankook (32PSI): 14 volume units
Hankook (37/35PSI): 16 to 17 volume units
Steering response: Grade F (If I can give it a lower score I will). The steering has response is slower, and I am getting less information about the road surface. The steering response is so poor, any subtle inputs to in steering is felt/seen much later compared to the tires listed above.
Softness of the sidewall: At 32PSI all around, it feels like the sidewalls do not exist; Goodyear RS-A, OEM tires, Yokohama S. Drive are tires that have stronger side walls in comparison. To compensate, I am increased the pressure to 37/35psi (front/back), and it did help a little. However, the response of the car after giving subtle steering inputs is still very poor compare to the other tires that I have experience with.
Confidence when driving: In the dry, I prefer the OEM tires because the steering response of these tires are lacking. However, the grip level appears to be about the same as OEM. Feedback of driving in the wet, needs to be filled out later. It is worth noting, the OEM tires were lacking grip in the rain due to level of tread and age of tire.
Forgiveness: These tires are much more forgiving than the OEM tires. The Hankook looses grip more gradually compared to OEM tires.
Will I buy again? Likely not, the steering feedback is horrible, and the response of the car is noticeably slower. People have said there is a break in period of this tire, which is about 500 miles. I'll update this post in another 1000 miles or so.

crappy tires that rate well when new but fall off considerably over the course of there life - conti sport contact DW's don't. They have a higher tread wear rating more consistent grip and ride better for a little more money.

just wanted to bump this thread. i got the V12s about 1 month ago and now have about 600 miles on them. the break in period was much needed, i took the tires out with about 100 miles on them and was really hoping that they were slipping because of the mold release compound (?), and it was, took them out to the hills twice this past weekend and they were great. i could feel a big difference between the beginning of the drive compared to about 15 mins into the drive when they had warmed up.
im pretty tired so i cant go on for too long right now, but theses are great great tires for the money. i dont have any reason to not buy them next time around unless i feel like forking up the extra cash to buy something that im sure will be better.
